are we having fun yet?

Yes we are!! 2009 was our first offical year "in business" as franklin photography, and we've been blessed to have had such a diversity of shoots to kick off our first year. Keith and I have had some great fun - and unexpected opportuntities - with

jazz pianist Bob Baldwin at the Hartford Jazz Festival and with Bob and Marian Meadows at Trumpets in Montclair, NJ, and most recently -our faves - the Average White Band at BB King's in NYC;
Keith's action photography shoots (the Barclay's FedEx Cup golf tournament in Jersey City, NJ, the US Open in Flushing Meadows, NY, & the Jets at the NJ Meadowlands (thank Carl!), as well as Plainfield HS volleyball & soccer, Cranford HS field hockey and Westfield HS tennis),
Alberto Urmana, who gave me a glimpse into the hard owrk and efforts required in the world of body building as he competed at the 2009 OCB MidAtlantic Bodybuilding Championships in southern NJ - I saw not a steroid in site, just lots of glistening, PERFECT bodies!!
Brenda and Tony who had us memorialize Marley Grace's Christening day - what a beautiful, beautiful family she has been blessed with!
Dancing on Air, hot air ballooning company based in NJ, and a very serendipitous hot air ballooning sequence,
Harry, Jake & Nola - who helped me prove animals are just very small people with fur coats on (sorry PITA - I don't think they have a choice!)
and who can forget our Freerunners from "down the Joisey Shore" - keep up the medical insurance guys!

2009 has been a wonderful year for us - both personally and professionally. We are truly blessed, and if you are reading this, we hope you have been doubly blessed in your life as well.

As we move into 2010, we are delighted to be working with the Morristown Recreation Travel Basketball Program, and look forward to capturing some great action shots for the girl's and boys' teams.

My amazing husband surprised me for my birthday this year by celebratin it with me in Paris! We spent an amazing week never even leaving the City of Lights - too much to see and more walking than we were used to. We enjoyed the camaraderie of Justyna Richards (http://www.justynaphotography.com) from Pictue Paris, who led us through the quiet side streets of the Latin Quarter and Montmartre, shared meals with us at fabulous boulangeries and creperies, overwhelmed us with her staggering knowledge of local history (is there any good reason why everyone famous dies a horrible and tragic death?!) and left us addicted to the history and sights of an amazing city. Below are some of our favorite shots - just a few of 2,300 that we took (gotta love digital!!)

Mary Basnight(http://www.marybasnight.com/) is a talented photographer based in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We know this because she photographed our wedding several years ago. It is because of our positive experience that Keith and I both picked up our cameras again, and now have the potential for a "second career" - after we retire from our current ones!

Mary was kind enough to include us as 2nd shooters on some of her weddings and engagement shoots, and some of the images I took are included below.

a dear friend of ours recently purchased a new Lotus sportscar - a cute little orange car about the size of a Matchbox toy. When he shared with us that he was gong to drive it "on the track" at the Pocono Raceway, we thought it would be a great way to show our support - and maybe finally figure out the men/cars/NASCAR/driving in circles "thing". Upon meeting our friend in the "garage" area, passing Corvettes, Porsche's, Audi's, etc., we understood the Security Guard's look of disdain as we entered Raceway Fantasyland in our 2005 Honda Pilot (Hey - I happen to know that I can go 0 to 60 pretty darn fast...). Enjoy some of my favorite pics....
